“Start now to contain dementia.” It was the highlight of a California Journal feature in the March 30 issue of the Los Angeles Times. Journalist Robin Abcarian draws on Maria Shriver, the former first lady of California, who founded the Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement. (Shriver is married to former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.)
Alzheimer’s disease is a terrible form of dementia, causing serious damage and shortening the lives of millions of people in all of our countries – terrible in everything. Alzheimer’s is an acute neurodegenerative disease that generally starts slowly and gets worse over time. It is a trigger for 60% to 70% of dementia problems.
Although billions of dollars have been spent on research during the last three decades, there is little that can be done to contain or cure it. There is no known cure to visit Senopatipoker.
What particularly caught my attention was Shriver’s confession: “We become so obsessed with our bodies that we forget how to take care of our brains.”
He explained this as well as moderating a panel of several experts who specialize in several related sections. But furthermore, when it comes to brain health – “what does your brain need to survive and grow” – it focuses on physical exercise, diet, and meditation. Except for strengthening muscles and joints, exercise increases blood vessels to the brain, which carries oxygen to hold “brain fog”. As for the diet, according to neuroscientist Lisa Mosconi, “when you eat right for your brain, you are eating right for your body.”
There is a choice of preferred foods that may help. But, in all the long columns, there was not a word about brain exercise to help him stay strong and healthy. That’s where the game of poker comes into the picture.
